Jute is one of the world's most versatile fibers. After initial processing, the plant is strong but supple and a golden brown in color. At this stage it can be woven into extremely durable mats for floor or table that take on the plant's natural variated tones of brown and stand up to years of use. Our Marena collection demonstrates this first processed stage of the plant. While the woven tendrils are perfectly smooth and the weaving is uniform, there is a raw simplicity to these mats that bring a sense of island informality to the table.
